pro:
the vestibule is huge, the footprint is small, the door is huge in good weather. ventilation is very good if the door-side is pitched into the wind, the other side blocks wind effectively as the outer tent reaches all the way to the ground.
the netting is breezy and the zipper on the doors all run smooth. lots of (short) stakes and extra rope provided. i like the blueish grey color which is perfect for use in summer. the poles fold down short and the stuffsack is easy to fill and compress.
the tent is easy to set up in wind and as i have a lot of rain i love the fly-first-pitch.
con:
the inner tent is very small and short. at 181 cm and right handed i am on the narrow side with my head. my feet always reach under the little bag dangling down on the wider side. if i was in the tent the other way i would have it in my face when lying down.
my sleepingbag touches the walls of the inner tent, which in this case is the fabric of the floor which reaches high up. both ends touch because the walls cave in. lying on my back with my toes touching the innertent my head also almost touches the other side on a 2.5cm pad.
in my environment the floor will catch a lot of condensation in the shoulder seasons. which brings me to the next point. i ordered the tent in blue because the inner pictured on the homepage had a very low bathtub-floor and a lot of mesh. what i got is the inner pictured under the pink version which has the high ends for the floor. this in my case will limit the use of the tent for summer and good 3-season weather.
the door, when staked out in the middle is very small to get in and out.
in general: i do like the tent, even with only the fly staked out it stands nicely in moderate wind. it offers a good usable inner tent and a very big vestibule. if i could make a wish it would be a longer diagonal on the inner tent resulting in a little smaller vestibule and more length to lie down.
the way it is i would not recommend the tent for people taller than 175cm. for the ones that either fit inside or are willing to take some discomfort this tent is a clear buy. you get a lot of fine tent for very little money.
promised delivery date was kept and communication was excellent and fast. if i had gotten the inner tent pictured in the homepage i would have happily given 5 stars. the tent on its own does deserve them.
It’s heavier than listed. It weighs at least 1,350 grams. Including the groundsheet, it’s about 1.5 kg. The difference is so significant that I’m tempted to return it.
